Member Awards and Honors

| The
Founders Cross is the most prized and highest distinction
that could possibly come to any one connected with the DeMolay
Movement. The
award was not a Supreme Council honor, but was a personal recognition
by Dad Frank Sherman Land of those whom he desired to honor
for their personal, consistent and conspicuous loyalty and service
to him in making the Order of DeMolay the greatest Youth Movement
of its kind in the world. The
jewel of the Founders Cross is beautifully designed in
bronze and appropriately enameled. The designates name
is engraved upon the reverse side of the jewel. A beautifully
engraved patent was also presented. The Founders Cross was established in June 1937 and was conferred only during the life-time of Dad Land and only 135 were awarded. The Founders Cross was officially retired on November 8, 1959. To our knowledge, the distinction was not awarded to anyone from Albert Pike Chapter No. 58. |
